Looking Ahead: Key Priorities for the Next 4 Years
Over the past several years, Council has focused on five core strategic areas. As I look to the next four years, here is my vision for continuing progress across each priority:
Workforce Housing Solutions – Keep pushing forward on our 7 unique local housing programs to preserve homes for local workers and families.
Public Safety & Preparedness – Strengthen emergency management, expand community wildfire mitigation, and complete our town-wide evacuation planning.
Sustainability & Climate Action – Protect Donner Lake, expand regional carbon neutrality initiatives, transition municipal fleets to electric vehicles, and implement Truckee’s Building Decarbonization Roadmap.
Community & Business Vitality – Complete the Town’s Economic Vitality Strategic Plan, support small businesses, invest in public art, ensure transparent local government, and implement key recommendations from the AirDiamond Creative Consulting and Baker Tilly reports.
Sustainable Transportation – Enhance microtransit services like TART Connect, advance the Active Transportation Plan, and improve alternative transportation infrastructure across town.
